The Paragraph Gallery is one in a series of art galleries operated by the Urban Culture Project in downtown Kansas City. In assessing the various needs of two tenants (Paragraph and Review magazine), the design team saw the need for flexible programming of the shared space. The concept would allow for the expansion or contraction of either space dependent upon the requirements of an event or publication schedule through the installation of two large independently sliding wall panels that divide the space. The design is characterized by its openness, restraint, and by its ability to accommodate multiple forms of activity.
